The Yokohama Triennale is an international exhibition of contemporary art, held once every three years in Yokohama. Under its artistic director, renowned contemporary artist Yasumasa Morimura, and gathering works by more than 70 artists from 65 countries, the concept of 2014’s show is “ART Fahrenheit 451: Sailing into the sea of oblivion”. From the ports of the world to the port town of Yokohama, this diverse selection of cultural works on the theme of “forgetting” will offer a fresh opportunity to consider the things we have left behind.
ヨコハマトリエンナーレは、横浜市で3年おきに開催される現代美術の国際展覧会。3年ぶりの開催となる本年はアーティスティック・ディレクターに現代美術家・森村泰昌氏を迎え、「華氏451の芸術：世界の中心には忘却の海がある」のタイトルのもと、国や時代を超えた65組70名を越える作家による作品が展示されます。さまざまな文化を受け入れてきた開港の地、横浜で開催する本展は、私たちが「忘却」してきたものに目を向ける新たな機会となるでしょう。
