This old library in Kagurazaka owned by long-established publisher Shinchosha has been renovated by architect Kengo Kuma. Built back between 1965 and 1974, the minimalistic warehouse-like space now offers a selection of fashion and lifestyle goods, books and more, with “reevaluation” and “food, clothing and shelter + knowledge” as its themes. Every item is an absolute gem selected by a specialist in that particular field. The space also includes a cafe and lecture space hosting regular events to stimulate inquisitive minds. This store represents a bold new step towards Japan’s next generation of lifestyle culture.
神楽坂に本社を構える老舗出版社・新潮社の書庫を建築家・隈研吾がリノベーションしたセレクトショップ。昭和40年代に建てられた倉庫の雰囲気を活かしたミニマルな空間に、「リバリュー」と「衣食住+知」をテーマに、ファッション、生活雑貨、本など各カテゴリーの目利きが「本当にいいもの」を厳選したアイテムが並びます。カフェやレクチャースペースも併設され、知的好奇心を刺激するイベントを随時開催。日本の生活文化の新たな一歩となるショップです。
